Every semester, approximately 15 organizations offer unpaid internships to select NYU in Prague students. Past NYU in Prague students have worked as research assistant for the former Czech minister of foreign affairs, written investigative articles published in Czech magazines, and run "Olympics" events for refugee children. If you apply and are chosen for one of these positions, you'll be exposed to new perspectives on the Czech Republic and the region. You'll have the opportunity to meet leaders in the arts, politics, NGOs, economics, and media. It will be a meaningful experience guaranteeing countless stories to tell. Many students also become involved in volunteerism during their time in Prague. Each semester interested students have spent time with children in a local orphanage, taught English in elementary schools and donated their time to the human rights organization Amnesty International.

Global Conferences

NYU in Prague students have the opportunity to attend major global conferences hosted by the city of Prague. For example, Forum 2000, an annual conference organized under the auspices of former president Václav Havel, brings together prominent personalities—from world leaders to philosophers— from around the world. Other conferences have included the 2004 International Olympic Committee Session, the 2002 NATO Summit, and the 2000 International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Summit and the annual Prague International Music Festival.
