NYU Academic and Research Center in Paris

The NYU Center in Paris, located on the Right Bank near the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero, is your home base. The center is located in a charming complex of 19th-century buildings on the rue de Passy in a beautiful and upscale residential and commercial district of the 16th arrondissement. There you will take classes, attend lectures, and study in the library. You are stongly encouraged to bring a laptop; however it is not mandatory as the center has a small computer lab and additional laptops for use in the library. A student lounge and garden provide places to meet up with friends or interact with NYU in Paris staff, including the director, associate director, housing coordinator, student life staff, librarians, and faculty—all of whom advise you during your stay in Paris and support your adventures in France.

NYU in Paris also plans a comprehensive calendar of events that regularly features outings to museums, the opera, and the theatre. At the center itself, you can go to film screenings and conferences on current affairs with scholars, writers, and politicians. Also planned are social events that bring you together with French students, food tastings, and walking tours that take you "off the beaten track" in your exploration of Paris.

The NYU in France library contains resources in French and English including texts on literature, art history, cinema, literary theory, and French and European history. In addition, the library holds both French and English-language periodicals (Le Monde, The Economist, etc.), an extensive film collection (in both French and English in DVD and VHS formats), French and American university catalogs, and other resources that may help you in your coursework and outside research.
