Located in the Barrio Norte area of the affluent Recoleta neighborhood, the NYU academic center is a 15-minute walk from student apartments and only a block from the Avenida Santa Fé, where you will find many shops, restaurants, and banks. The Buenos Aires subway system, El Subte, is easy to use, and the closest station is a few short blocks away. The center is housed in an architecturally stunning, Tudor-style building that was most recently home to the Angolan embassy. All classrooms and administrative offices are located here, along with a small reading room, computer lab, lounge with wireless Internet, and a dining area with a kitchenette.
Between classes, you can relax in the lounge facing a beautifully crafted fireplace, heat up delicious emapandas in the adjoining kitchenette, or e-mail friends and family back home from the computer lab. In the surrounding neighborhood, you will find shops for every need, inexpensive cafés, and a number of amazing bookstores like El Ateneo, located in a historic, restored 20th-century theatre that’s just a short bus ride from the academic center. In the nearby neighborhood of Palermo, you can relax or study in the sprawling green parks, all while enjoying the city’s mild weather.
