Transfer & Transitioning Student Involvement

Getting involved as a new student at Washington Square is an important part of your adjustment to NYU and NYC. Fortunately, there are dozens of ways to get involved at NYU – in fact, there are so many involvement opportunities, they can sometimes be overwhelming! If you ask any student, getting involved helps you to feel more connected at NYU and assists in experiencing a greater sense of community at the University. We encourage you to explore the links to the right on this page to learn more about all the opportunities available at NYU.

A great place to start is with events and programs desigend specifically by and for transfer and transitioning students to Washington Square. Attend an event, join the Transfer & Transitioning Student Association, participate in the Transition 101 Series, CONNECT with a Transfer/Transition Ambassador or apply to be a part of the TRANSFERmation alternative break program.

If you are interested in getting involved or have any questions about Transfer & Transitioning Student Programs, e-mail Zach Harrell or Naomi Karp.

Transition 101 Series

The Transition 101 Series is a program designed to assist the transition of new transfer and transitioning students and provide an opportunity for returning transfer and transitioning students to connect. Each session provides students with tools and resources for becoming successful at NYU. This series takes place during the first six weeks of each semester, and will collaborate with campus partners, schools, staff and student leaders to present on the available support resources to help new students with the adjustment to both NYU and NYC.
