SERVE! is a one-year program designed for service-oriented commuter and off-campus sophomore to senior undergraduate students to participate in community service projects in the local NYC area. The program provides students an opportunity to learn about local social issues and develop leadership skills all while serving both the NYU and NYC communities. Participants will volunteer at local organizations and lead monthly service projects, all culminating in a large service project per semester for all commuter and off-campus students to participate.
Applications For SERVE! 2013-2014 Are Currently Closed
While time commitments vary depending on the service project, students should expect to dedicate approximately 10-12 hours a month to the entire program. This time commitment encompasses weekly meetings; service projects; SERVE! events; and any other individual responsibilities. Please note that some service projects will occur during weekends.
Unfortunately, applicants who wish to apply to SERVE! must be able to dedicate an entire year to the program. If you are studying abroad, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be on the listserv and receive news about upcoming volunteering events!
