• Serve as a role model to a group of commuter students
• Check email regularly and respond to questions from students; provide advice on topics such as academics, time management, wellness, and roommate and parent issues; and refer students to appropriate offices and organizations at NYU
• Send an email to students weekly informing them about relevant on and off-campus events and services and invite them to contact you with relevant questions
• Fulfill 16 programming hours per semester, in a variety of different commuter-specific programs
• Conduct 6-12 Welcome Week (orientation) programming hours prior to the fall semester (dependent on CPD participation)
• Organize programming as per guidelines established by supervisor
• Assist in development of a sense of community among commuter students
• Attend monthly staff meetings and bi-weekly 1-on-1 meetings with supervisor
• Assist with Student Resource Center events as needed, including, but not limited to Welcome Week, Commuter Appreciation Week, Commuter Student Council activities, The Torch Event and Commuter Preview Day
• Notify Program Coordinators if students are perceived as "at risk" and in need of additional help
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Coordinators
