As a new NYU student, you will work with an academic advisor who will help craft a schedule that fits your academic, career, and goals while meeting your school's requirements. You will meet with your advisor during orientation and work together throughout your time at NYU. You should expect to hear more details regarding advisement and course registration from your school or degree program in June. For more information on advisement or to find contact information for your advisor, please visit the Undergraduate Advisement website.
In addition to exciting programs during Welcome Week, each school will host an orientation program that will introduce students to specific academic policies and procedures, their academic advisors, fellow classmates, as well as deans and directors who can help with academic and personal success. Look for more details in May regarding specific school orientations. Note that there is no summer orientation program for NYU students.
To help students from abroad prepare for their first weeks in New York, classmates and NYU professors share advice in a video about what to expect in The American Classroom. Click here to watch the video and explore other helpful resources.
