January Term Important Dates

These important dates are intended for visiting students at NYU admitted through the Office of University Programs. If you are a current NYU student in a degree or diploma program, you should refer to the policies and procedures of your school or speak with your academic advisor.

Adding a Course Late

Instructor approval must be obtained to enroll in a course after the second calendar day of the term.

Pass/Fail Declarations

Pass/fail declarations must be made by the end of the second calendar week.

Withdrawal Schedule (Withdrawal schedules can be found on the University Registrar's Academic Calendar.)

Students may drop a course through the third calendar day of the term without the issuance of a “W” grade. A grade of “W” will be issued for students who drop a course or withdraw for the term beginning on the fourth calendar day of the term.

Tuition Refund Schedule (Refund schedules can be found at the Office of the Bursar website.)

Withdrawal prior to December 13: 100% tuition
Withdrawal from December 13 through the first calendar day of the term: 100% tuition less $500
Withdrawal after the first calendar day of the term: NO REFUND
