Academic Advisement

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) houses academic advising services dedicated specifically to helping visiting students register for courses and navigate their academic experience at NYU.

Admitted students can contact the academic advisor for visiting students, Mike West, by emailing him at mike.west@nyu.edu.  Admitted students can also schedule an appointment to meet with him by contacting the ARC at 212-998-2272.

If you have questions about applying as a visiting student or about the application process, students should contact the Office of University Programs directly via email at university.programs@nyu.edu or by phone at 212-998-2292.

 

Summer in NYC Enrollment Requests

If you have been admitted as a visiting student for the Summer in NYC program and you are having trouble registering for a course because of a prerequisite issue or course restriction, you must submit the Summer in NYC Enrollment Request Form.  Please note that in order to complete the form, you must have already activated your NYU NetID and be logged into NYU email accountDo not request access to the form.  If you are properly logged into your NYU email account, you do not need to request access.

You cannot access and submit this form if you have not yet been admitted to the Summer in NYC program.  If you are interested in applying, please visit the Office of University Programs's application page.

Students visiting NYU for the Summer in NYC program should be able to register themselves for any courses that do not have prerequisites or restrictions listed in the Albert Course Search.  If you are having trouble navigating Albert, you are strongly encouraged  to watch the Office of the University Registrar's "How To" Video on Albert and review their Albert training guides.

Please Note: First Summer Session (6W1) and First Quarter (3W1) courses began the week of May 27th and students are no longer able to self-enroll in these courses via Albert. To enroll in one of these courses you must provide instructor permission to enroll in the course. You should NOT submit this form. If the instructor gives permission to enroll in his or her course, please forward the email to Mike West at mike.west@nyu.edu. Please be sure to include the class number in your email. Submitting this form WILL NOT grant you permission to enroll in a First Summer Session or First Quarter course. 

Writers in NY Program

Students interested in the Writers in NY Program, offered by the Creative Writing Program at NYU, should NOT submit the Summer in NYC Enrollment Request Form above to request enrollment in CRWRI-UA 818, CRWRI-UA 819, or CRWRI-UA 835.  Instead, please submit the Writers in NY Permission Form.  Students with questions about the Writers in NY program should contact the Creative Writing Program directly at writers.in.ny@nyu.edu.

NYU Precollege Program

Students admitted to NYU Precollege should NOT submit the Summer in NYC Enrollment Request Form above to request enrollment in courses.  The easiest way to search for Precollege courses is view the Precollege Course Search (please be patient as the page may take a few moments to load), which is the most accurate listing of all of the courses available to students in the Precollege program. 

We encourage to view the NYU Precollege blog for additional information on courses and registration.  NYU Precollege students should be able to enroll themselves in courses via Albert.

 

Fall in NY Enrollment Requests
