Welcome to The Green House at 7th Street! Located in the heart of the East Village, The Green House is located on the south side of 7th Street, in between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Approximately 90 upperclass students call this dynamic and diverse community home. At the Green House, we share our programs and our staff with our East Village neighbors in Alumni Hall. Together these two buildings make up the 7A Partnership.
The Green House consists mostly of quads, where four residents share some of the largest apartments on campus. The rooms have large closets and plenty of space for studying in your room. Common areas have a fridge, sink, and cabinets as well as a couch, table, and chairs. The Green House has recently renovated lounges: a communal TV lounge with a beautiful kitchen, a study lounge, and a game room with table tennis and foosball. There is also a bike storage room on the first floor, as well as a Green House lending library. Laundry is in the basement.
The Green House offers residents a number of great opportunities to get involved in sustainability efforts in the NYU and New York communities. All of our residents are involved in one of our three Branches: Communal Dinners, Community Service (through local community gardens and our own Green House Garden), and Communal Living (which focuses on programming and improvements to the building).
A Faculty Affiliate partners with the RAs to bring interesting programming to the Green House. We hope that you will join us this year and get to know one another by exploring NYU, the East Village and becoming advocates for sustainability!
