  • Resume and cover letter reviews

Handshake

As an NYU alumnus you have free access to job listings and online career resources through Handshake. This is also where you can schedule career coaching appointments, pre-register for alumni-focused events, and stay connected to the latest news and updates from the Wasserman Center.

Professional Development Events

The Wasserman Center works with experts around the world to deliver the latest job search and career development strategies to NYU alumni. We currently partner with the NYU Alumni Association and the Alumni Learning Consortium to bring you exclusive access to a range of career and professional advancement events and webinars.

You can find alumni events by:

Accessing Our Offices

Your alumni card does not give you access to most University buildings and services. Access to the Wasserman Center is granted to alumni with a valid photo ID up to one hour before you have a coaching appointment or event to attend. Attempting to use our offices for other purposes may result in a restriction of your career services at the Wasserman Center.

When you arrive at any of our office locations, you must check-in at the front security desk. We suggest you allow at least 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time to complete the check-in process.

We ask that all visitors conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner when using our services and interacting with NYU staff, students, employers, faculty, or other community members. For more information on using our services, please review our Alumni Career Services Code of Conduct in the Resource section of Handshake.

Computer and Printing Resources

Printing and computer services are not available at the Wasserman Center. If you need materials printed for an appointment, email them to your career coach ahead of time. Alternatively, you can find local computer and printing services through UPS, FedEx Office or The New York Public Library. We do not offer computer work areas, co-working spaces, or private rooms for personal or business use at this time.

External Career Coaching Resources

Most alumni meet with the Wasserman Center one to two times as they consider next steps in their career. If you are interested in extensive or on-going career support, we recommend working with a private coach who can offer more frequent and specialized services.

We are pleased to provide you with a list of external career coaches to further assist you in your career development. Access this list, or log into Handshake and select “External Career Coaches List for NYU Alumni” from the Resource section of your account. We provide you with detailed information on each coach, including their bio, areas of expertise, and contact information.

Prices for these private coaches will vary, but many offer low or no cost introductory sessions for NYU alumni. You may choose to meet with a few providers at first, to ensure you find a coach that best aligns with your specific interests or needs. Please note that NYU and the Wasserman Center can not endorse any one coach specifically, rather this list is provided as a resource only, separate from our services.
