Love food? Want to explore a neighborhood right next to NYU? Then join us an afternoon of food tasting as we visit 8 different locations in our East Village Food Tour! The locations included in this tour will be: Mamoun's, Pomme Frites, Xi'an Famous Foods, Crif Dogs, Big Gay Ice Cream Shop, Abraco, Momofuku Noodle Bar, and Veniero's Pasticceria and Caffe. Lower East Side Tenement Museum: Sweatshop Workers Tour

Come learn the story of 97 Orchard Street. Built on Manhattan's Lower East Side in 1863, this tenement apartment building was home to nearly 7000 working class immigrants. They faced challenges we understand today: making a new life, working for a better future, starting a family with limited means. In recognizing the importance of this seemingly ordinary building, the Tenement Museum has re-imagined the role that museums can play in our lives. This trip is currently full.
Community Service: Lupus Walk
Saturday, October 20th, 8:30am-12:30pm | Walk begins at South Street Seaport
Volunteer with fellow NYU grads at the 9th annual New York City ‘Walk with Us to Cure Lupus’ walk-a-thon! This event changes lives and brings people together in the quest to end the suffering caused by lupus. Free food and t-shirts will be provided for volunteers during the event. Volunteer duties will consist of directing walkers during the event and helping with clean-up afterwards. All graduate students are invited to meet and network during this afternoon of LGBTQ & Ally community building that will feature informal discussions, resource sharing, networking and food! Grads will start their afternoon sat Soho's Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay & Lesbian Art. Immediately following, we will end the night at Les Poisson Rouge's weekly "Le Bingo," where the tagline is "Everyone's got a chance to win at this rollicking and fun-filled affair!" Fee includes 2 bingo boards and shared appetizers at LPR.

National Museum of the American Indian
