NYU CMEP offers a wide variety of programming and educational initiatives focused on four main areas:
Community building initiatives bring together individuals of marginalized identities and those passionate about social justice to create connections, form friendships and find family, and empower each other on the journey toward equity and justice.
Social justice education serves to empower the NYU community with the knowledge, skills, tools and resources to practice social justice in all spaces through interactive trainings and workshops, dialogue groups, and programming.
Student leadership development initiatives empower marginalized communities to become advocates and activists by centering historically oppressed narratives and thought traditions around community, leadership and justice.
Student success initiatives engage students of underrepresented backgrounds from their first year through graduation to provide holistic development opportunities and resources for personal, social, academic, and professional growth.
University Wide Programming and Initiatives
In addition to our four main areas, CMEP in collaboration with campus partners, also hosts a number of annual university-wide diversity programs as well as reactive programs in response to nationwide events. Check out some of our past programs below!
