Spring 2008 mandatory trainingIf you are selected as a peer educator you must attend the Spring 2008 one-day, mandatory training program on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This training is for all new PEALs and PEIRs and will be held on the NYU campus. Fall 2008 mandatory trainingAll new PEALs and PEIRs must participate in a week-long training program in August 2008. This training will take place immediately preceding NYU’s Annual Welcome Week and will be conducted daily from 9am – 5pm for one week. PEALs and PEIRs are expected to return to NYU early to participate in the fall training program. PEIRs have additional training in the evenings with Residential Education staff. Meals will be provided for all participants and students living on campus will be allowed to move into their residence halls early. Winter Training (January 2009)Winter training is for PEIRs only and takes place in January. During winter recess, PEIRs are expected to return to campus the weekend before spring classes begin to participate in training. The dates for January 2009 are to be determined. Continuing Education (CE)All Peer Educators (PEALs and PEIRs) are required to attend and participate in Continuing Education (CE) training throughout the course of the academic year. The supervisors in the affiliate offices coordinate their own CE experiences. There are approximately 3 trainings per semester. Each group determines the dates for their CE sessions. |
