About the Office of Research & Assessment

Mission: Our mission is to collaborate with others to gather, analyze, use and share information so that the Division of Student Affairs can: Improve programs and services; Enhance student experiences; Learn about our students and their needs; Use data to make informed decisions about our practice and resources; Understand assessment techniques and methods.

In order to accomplish our mission, our office uses a three-tier system for conducting assessment on a large-scale, departmental and program evaluation basis. The three tiers include Annual Large-Scale Projects, Four Year Reviews, and Annual Reviews. Each step on this tier system also includes opportunities for staff members to learn about assessment processes, methods, analysis and reporting through Boot Camps, conferences and skills built around the ASK (Assessment Skills and Knowledge) Standards published by ACPA.
