Stephanie is a senior in Steinhardt studying Vocal Performance (Music Theater) and Media, Culture and Communication. She's been a TA for two years and has some great advice for other transfer and transitioning students:

"Challenge yourself, and take advantage of everything NYU has to offer! Visit the Student Resource Center, join a club (or start a club!), and become familiar with NYUHome -- it is a wonderful tool and resource for everything from your academics to information about the bookstore and Health Center. Don't stand in the way of your own potential --couple your own diligence with the numerous resource that surround you and achieve success!"

Poetry Slam Invitational

Join your TA's for some awesome Slam poetry at the First Annyal NYC O'Keege Aptoqicz Poetry Slam Invitational. This first-ever NYC college slam tournament will feature Slam NYU, NYU's very own slam poetry team. We will meet outside Brittany Hall on Friday so we can sit together. This event is $3; please bring cash with you to the event.

Transfer/Transitioning Students Study Break

Midterms can be stressful, so take a break with your TA's! There will be snacks, hot drinks, music and games. Stop by, see your friends before spring break, and relax for a bit!

Apply to be a Transfer/Transition Ambassador
Application Deadline: March 20, 2012
Transfer/Transition Ambassadors (TAs) are student leaders who successfully transferred or transitioned to NYU and now assist the Student Resource Center with providing fun and interactive programming and guidance for new and returning transfer and transitioning students. Being a TA is a great leadership opportunity and a great way to meet and inspire new transfer and transitioning students to explore and make the most of their time at NYU and in NYC! If you have any questions about the position, there will be a TA Info Session on March 7th, or you can e-mail Zach Harrell or Naomi Karp. Applications are available online here.
