Getting involved as a transfer student is an important part of your adjustment
to NYU. Fortunately, there are myriad ways to get involved at NYU –
in fact, there are so many involvement opportunities, they can sometimes
be overwhelming! In addition to all-university involvement opportunities
that the SRC lists on the Getting Involved
section of this website, there are some specific involvement opportunities
for transfer students.
Transfer Student Association
The Transfer Student Association is a group of students who coordinate
programs and events for all NYU transfer students, and advocate for transfer
awareness and accommodations across the university. The group meets every
Monday at 5:00pm in Kimmel Center, room 805. Meetings are open to all
transfer students, new and old. Click here
to visit their web site.
Transfer Ambassadors
Transfer Ambassadors are student leaders who have successfully transferred
to NYU and assist in Welcome Week programs for new transfer students during
fall and spring Welcome Week. Transfer Ambassadors coordinate and present
these programs, and serve as consulting leaders for the Student Resource
Center. Transfer Ambassador applications for fall 2008 positions are available
here.
Transfer Buddy Mentor Program
The Transfer Buddy program matches new and old transfers in order to ease the social and academic transition for new transfer students. Click here to sign up to be a Transfer Buddy.
