Free Writing Workshop for Veterans
The NYU Creative Writing Program is pleased to announce the recommencement of The Veterans Writing Workshop, a free, non-partisan outreach program offered to the veterans’ community in and around New York City. An experienced and dedicated NYU Creative Writing Fellow will lead a weekly writing workshop for veterans of the Gulf War and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in a wheelchair accessible classroom at NYU. This workshop will be free of charge, small in size (limited to 15 writers), and will offer participants the opportunity to express themselves on paper, to bear witness to their experiences, and to explore the basics of the craft of writing in a welcoming community of fellow veteran writers.
The Veterans Writing Workshop will be held on Saturday afternoons from 2:00- 4:00 pm. If you are interested in joining, or to find out more, please contact Zachary Sussman, Program Coordinator, at (212) 992-9809 or zachary.sussman@nyu.edu.
