Graduate Child Care Subsidy

childcare subsidy

A Bursar credit in the amount of $200 per semester (up to a maximum of $400 per calendar year) is available for full-time graduate students who have dependent children requiring child care services. NOTE: International students will not receive their subsidy as a bursar credit. Their credits will be processed through the accounts payable office.

Eligibility

  • You must be enrolled currently for full-time study in a graduate degree program as verified by SIS
  • Your dependent child must not have reached his/her sixth birthday by the deadline of November 1 for the Fall semester and April 1 for the Spring semester.

How to apply in two easy steps

  • Complete the online application form
  • Submit via email a scanned copy of your child’s birth certificate along with the confirmation email you received once you registered for the childcare subsidy. If you do not have access to a scanner for your birth certificate please feel free to stop into the Student Resource Center and the staff will be happy to scan it for you. The Student Resource Center is located in the Kimmel Center at 60 Washington Square South (between Thompson and LaGuardia) in suite 210.

Your application will not be processed until the copy of the birth certificate is received. The birth certificate MUST be received in the office by the semester deadline. Late birth certificates will not be accepted.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU MAY NEED TO SUBMIT ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION BECAUSE THE SUBSIDY IS TAXABLE.
If you are a visa holder you must come into the office to fill out additional forms once you have been approved to receive the subsidy.
