Welcome Week Leaders are an integral part of making Welcome Week happen. Over 150 volunteers make up the leader staff, in addition to ten team captains who coordinate staffing for each Welcome Week event. Being a Welcome Week Leader is a fantastic leadership opportunity that helps students learn more about the university, meet other leaders, and make a difference in the transition of each incoming class.
Welcome Week Leader applications will operate on a rolling deadline, and applications will be available until the Welcome Week Leader staff is filled. Once we have confirmed the necessary number of Leaders, we will accept Welcome Week Leader applications on a waitlist basis.
No leadership experience is required to become a Welcome Week Leader - just lots of energy, and a desire to assist new students in their transition to NYU. If you're a transfer student, consider applying for the position of Transfer Ambassador, to assist new transfer students in their transition and assisting with specific transfer student Welcome Week programs. Transfer Ambassador applications will also have a rolling deadline, and shift to a waiting list once the staff is full.
