Welcome Week 2010
Are you going to be new to NYU? Looking to meet new people? Want to find out about resources and services available to you as an NYU student? Then take advantage of NYU Welcome Week! Welcome Week is a series of programs and events designed to assist new freshmen and transfer students in transitioning to NYU and NYC. Welcome Week programs are a great way to meet new people, get to know about the university, experience New York City, and have fun during your first week at NYU.
Welcome Week programs are open to all new NYU students. Additional information, including Welcome Week event schedules and program information will be available on this site in June. There are also Welcome Week programs for new NYU graduate students. For Graduate Welcome Week information, click here.
While Welcome Week does feature workshops on academic success, academic registration and advisement is not a component of Welcome Week. Advisement and registration are part of the orientations sponsored by NYU schools and departments, which new students are required to attend. Click here for more information on undergraduate advisement.

Must-See Welcome Week Programs
NYU Presidential Welcome and the Reality Show:NYU
Presented by President Sexton, fellow new students, alumni, and university officials
the Presidential Welcome is an event developed for new transfer and transitioning
students. Immediately following is the production of The Reality Show: NYU --
a gritty, funny musical about the lives of NYU students as they experience an
array of confounding, confusing, and exciting issues. The Reality Show: NYU is
written, performed, and produced by NYU students, and directed by Tisch School
of the Arts professor Elizabeth Swados. ** Note that students receive tickets
and NYUMetro Cards and travel with student leaders**
NYU Portraits: Voices of a People
This exciting event showcases powerful, thought-provoking speakers with an
array of exceptional student dance, vocal, and instrumental performances by NYU
students, faculty and alumni. NYU Portraits: Voices of a People is an innovative way of conveying
the importance and tradition of NYU's diverse community
as an enriching, engaging educational experience.
