The list below includes important all-university dates and deadlines, such as registrar, bursar, financial aid, and housing deadlines, as well as major university events. Departmental and school deadlines do not appear here; please contact individual schools or departments for any of those dates. fall 2007

August

  • 13: Fall 2007 Bursar payment due for all undergraduates
  • 26: "NYU Welcomes You" - Residence Hall check-in begins
  • 27: Undergraduate Welcome Week begins (ends August 31)
  • 27: Graduate Welcome Week begins (ends September 7)

September

  • 3: Labor Day; University Closed
  • 3: Last day for students to drop courses with 100% tuition and fee refund
  • 4: First day of Fall 2007 term
  • 6: Office of Student Activities Fall Club Fest
  • 14: Deadline to submit Student Health History form, NY State Immunization requirements, and alcohol education certificate
  • 15: Last Day to change or cancel a meal plan
  • 16: First Day to add Dining Dollars to meal plan
  • 17: Last day for undergraduates to drop/add courses on Albert
  • 30: Deadline to select or waive student health insurance for 2007-2008

October

November

  • 4: Daylight savings time ends - set clocks back one hour
  • 12: Spring 2008 registration begins
  • 12: International Education Week begins (ends November 16)
  • 21: Legislative Day; Classes run on Monday schedule; Wednesday classes do not meet
  • 22: Thanksgiving Recess (through Nov. 25); University Closed

December

  • 1: Spring 2008 Housing cancellation deadline
  • 3: First day to register, change, or cancel a spring meal plan
  • 4: Electronic bills available for students registered for Spring 2008 classes
  • 11: Legislative Day; Classes run on Thursday schedule; Tuesday classes do not meet
  • 12: Last day of Fall 2007 classes
  • 13: Reading Day
  • 14: Fall 2007 exams begin (last through Dec. 22)
  • 21: Fall semester exams end; Fall meal plan ends at 8pm
  • 22: Winter Recess begins for students and classes(lasts through Jan. 19, 2008); University Closed

January

  • 1: Winter Recess (through Jan. 19)
  • 2: University offices open for Spring
  • 3: Spring 2008 Bursar payment due for all undergraduates
  • 4: Housing cancellation deadline for new spring residents
  • 13: Residence Hall check-in begins for new spring residents
  • 21: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; University Closed
  • 21: Last day to withdraw with 100% refund of tuition and fees
  • 22: First day of Spring 2008 classes
  • 28: Office of Student Activities Spring Club Fest

February

  • 1 : Deadline to Apply for May Graduation
  • 1-14: Housing Reapplication for 2008-09
  • 4: Last day for undergraduates to register, drop/add courses on Albert
  • 9: Meal Plan Change/Cancellation Deadline
  • 10: Deadline to select or waive student health insurance for Spring
  • 10: First day to add Dining Dollars to meal plan
  • 15: Priority deadline for Study Abroad admissions
  • 18: President's Day: University Closed

March

  • 1: Summer 2008 and Academic Year 2008-09 FAFSA Applications due
  • 9: Daylight Saving Time Begins - set clocks forward one hour
  • 15: Dining locations closed for spring break
  • 17: Spring Recess begins - no classes(through March 22); University Open

April

May

  • 5: Last day of classes for Spring 2008
  • 6: Reading Day
  • 7: Spring 2007 exam period begins (through May 14)
  • 14: All-University Commencement
  • 19: Summer Session I begins (ends June 27)
  • 26: Memorial Day; University Closed

June

  • 5: Deadline to select or waive student health insurance for Summer
  • 27: Summer I classes end
  • 30: Summer Session II begins (ends August 8)

July

  • 4: Independence Day; University Closed

August

  • 8: Summer II classes end
  • 24: Residence Hall check-in begins for Fall 2008
