Price Cuts and Discounts for Students

$ While you’re busy taking advantage of all the benefits of being an NYU student, don’t forget that many places off campus give discounts to students. One particularly useful discount is the Student Advantage Card. You’ll have to purchase this card, which goes for $20, but its uses are widespread and the card itself is valuable. Visit www.studentadvantage.com for more information and to purchase your card. Here are just a few of the discounts available from Student Advantage:

¢ 15% off of all purchases with Greyhound and Amtrak
¢ 5% off and free shipping of textbooks from Barnes & Noble (www.bn.com)
¢ 10% off online purchases from Target
¢ 15% off your hotel with Choice Hotels
¢ Student Discounts for Broadway shows such as Rent

$ The Entertainment Book is a valuable source of coupons and discounts on food, movies, travel, and tons more. It’s localized for NYC with many buy-one-get-one coupons for everything from McDonalds to “tres chic” cuisine. Look for The Entertainment Book at your local bookstore, or buy it online at www.entertainment.com for $25.

$ Campus Clipper is a company that distributes booklets of coupons for students from merchants in the area. They’re free and you should definitely pick up one (or two, or….)

You can also download coupons for everything from photocopies to spa treatments to buffalo wings at www.campusclipper.com.

$ Some local vendors who want to attract student customers offer Student Discounts in the Village. A list of just a few who also accept Campus Cash is available at www.nyu.edu/nyucard/merchant.locations

∗∗ Don't be shy! Other local vendors offer student discounts so be sure to ask wherever you go!
