Spring in NY is a domestic study away program designed for college students interested in extending their pre-professional training in New York City. We offer concentrations in Law/Business; Health; Public Service and Policy; and Media and the Arts. Spring in NY students participate in cultural activities, engaging activities and valuable networking opportunities. Applications for Spring 2012 are now available.
The Program:
Spring in NY students will select two to three classes from a list of courses selected to reflect the focus of their particular concentration.
In addition, all students take an overview course taught by Rogan Kersh, an award winning professor at the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service that positions their experience within the broader world of public policy and its impact on professionals in all fields.
Co-curricular professional development experiences:
In addition to the classroom experience, students will have an array of co-curricular activities related to their professional development including resume writing, portfolio developing, interviewing skills and more.
Internship opportunities:
Students accepted into the Public Service and Policy concentration are guaranteed a credit bearing internship in a New York based non-profit organization.
Students accepted into Law/Business, Health, and Media and the Arts programs will have access to the university's award winning Wasserman Center for Career Development and a list of internship opportunities prior to coming to NYU. Past students have interned at the Food Network, Michael Kors, League of Young Voters and Saturday Night Live.
Spring in New York Certificate:
Students who successfully complete the Spring in New York Program will receive a certificate from the NYU Office of Academic Initiatives in addition to having an NYU transcript.
