As a Spring in New York participant, you are required to live on campus in one of NYU's residence halls. Each hall offers a stimulating and supportive environment where you can meet people, participate in a vibrant community, and take maximum advantage of the unique personal, educational, professional, and cultural opportunities that both NYU and the city of New York have to offer. All Spring in NY students will be placed in apartment-style buildings. The apartments will have suite-style bedrooms, bathroom and a kitchen with applicances. Most residence halls are located approximately 15 to 30 minutes from historic Washington Square Park, the center of NYU's Greenwich Village campus.

Consider Applying for Special Housing Communities!
Spring in New York is excited to offer you an optional opportunity to live in one of NYU's various housing choices that focus on a particular theme or lifestyle choice.
Explorations Communities: Exploration Floors are a network of 11 theme-based communities across the campus that intentionally place students into a community where living and learning is dynamic and constant. The theme in each community is developed through programs and activities which are planned by the resident assistant (RA), a faculty member designated for the floor (Faculty Affiliate), and the residents on the floor. Spring in NY students may apply for upperclass options only. Click on the link to see descriptions for each community, and see which one fits your interests and academic goals.
Residential College at Broome Street: The residential college allows students to experience the cohesiveness and intimacy of a small community while still enjoying the exciting cultural and scholarly resources of a large university and global city; the result is a striking level of spirit, allegiance, and powerful sense of community at NYU. The Green House: The Green House at NYU is a new residential initiative that intentionally places students into a community where living and learning is dynamic and constant. The focus of this living learning community is to provide an alternative living option that is supportive of a greener student lifestyle, while maintaining opportunities to connect with other students in a community living environment. The Green House will support NYU’s commitment to creating a more sustainable urban campus through programs offered in the hall, as well as facilities renovations to reduce energy and water use.
International House: Both international and domestic students are invited to apply for this program, so that students from all nationalities may come together and learn from one another through meaningful exchanges and interactions. This living learning community will focus on citizen diplomacy across the city and the world.
