We understand that New York City will be your home for an entire semester and building friendships and connections with other students is vital to your enjoyment and success. The vast majority of Spring in New York students (over 90%) come to New York alone and are eager to forge new friendships.

Throughout your semester at NYU, you will have the opportunity to attend events planned exclusively for Spring in New York students.

Prior Spring in New York activities have included:

  • Walking tour of the Historic West Village
  • New York Yankees baseball game
  • Broadway musical productions
  • Independent film screenings
  • New York Knicks basketball game
  • Community service project
  • Historical walking tour of Greenwich Village

Orientation
When you arrive on campus in January, you will be welcomed to New York University at a special orientation session for Spring in New York students. At Spring in New York orientation, you will learn important information regarding first steps at NYU and have an opportunity to get to know fellow Spring in New York participants.

Spring Welcome Week
Beginning on the first day of classes you are invited to attend a series of workshops, social events, and activities coordinated by NYU's Student Resource Center. Spring Welcome Week introduces new students to University resources and provides opportunities for students to get to know each other.
