The Henry and Lucy Moses Center for Students with Disabilities provides services within the 14 schools and colleges of the University. Located at 240 Greene Street, 4th Floor, the center provides services to populations with hearing and visual impairments, mobility impairments, and learning disabilities and to students with chronic conditions, such as AIDS and psychiatric disorders.
You must register with this office if you require an accommodation in your courses or at field learning placement.
Services include the provision of sign language interpreters, readers, note-takers, and other ancillary aides. The center works in conjunction with academic and administrative departments in providing assistance with registration and housing. Tuition aid is also available through a special application process.
The Center also sponsors numerous programs and life-skills workshops, as well as the Career Enhancement Program, which assists students in obtaining employment in the private sector. Call (212) 998-4980 (voice and TDD) for more information.

Housing
Although many social work students live in the immediate vicinity of the main campus, many others live throughout the metropolitan area. The University offers graduate students at Washington Square a variety of units in campus residence halls. The housing office is a central resource for students seeking University or off-campus housing.

Registered students can obtain a NYU ID at the NYUCard Center located at 7 East 12th Street, ground level. You must bring proof of identification (i.e. State Drivers License, State Photo ID or Passport).
Students awaiting registration may be provided with a temporary card.
elmer holmes bobst library
One of the largest open-stack libraries in the nation.
Librarians in the Social Science Center, located on the seventh floor of Bobst, will offer information and assistance. They can be reached at 998-2600. Many of the materials which are assigned for social work course readings are in the Reserve Reading Room, on the lower level. Most of the literature pertinent to social work is located on the eighth and ninth floors. The libraries at the NYU Medical Center and the Law School also have many journals that are useful to social workers.
