The NYU Silver School of Social Work community gathered on Wednesday, May 18, at Lincoln Center to celebrate the Class of 2011 Convocation. Despite the rain, the scene inside Avery Fisher Hall was festive and joyous as the School graduated 609 students from its undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. David A. Paterson, the 55th governor of New York, gave an inspiring keynote address touching on the values of advocacy and the important role social workers play in changing policies.
