Advanced Clinical Practice & Contemporary Approaches to Clinical Practice
This Certificate in ACP is a 2-semester course of study that will emphasize contemporary clinical theories and clinical practice principles and process. An optional second year in Contemporary Approaches to Clinical Practice will apply contemporary clinical theories and practice principles and will examine clinical cases drawn from students' practice in depth.
Post Master's Certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice (semesters I & II)
This Certificate requires the completion of two semesters (1 course per semester) over one year. Each course will comprised of eight 2 1/2 hour sessions.
There are two sections offered. Students will choose one section:
Mondays 6:45-9:15pm (weekly) or Fridays 9:00-11:30am (bi-weekly)

Child and Family Therapy
This specialized one-year program is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in treatment of children with a family context. Participants will gain skills in understanding and working with pre-adolescent children using a range of interventions such as play-therapy, age-specific therapeutic games and art activities. At the same time, students will learn to comprehend and work with the family dynamics that frequently underlie or exacerbate a child's distress.
This is a one-year program that will meet for 27 weeks.
Courses are offered in 9 session trimesters, from September to May.
Courses will be offered consecutively on Thursday evenings, from 5:00-6:50 and from 7:00-8:50.

Clinical Approaches to the Addictions
This curriculum integrates sophisticated, psychodynamically-oriented clinical understanding with the latest evidence-based knowledge, regarding screening assessment and treatment of individuals with alcohol and other drug disorders, and their family members. This program incorporates up-to-date information addressing the intersection of addiction and the unique issues and treatment approaches when working with various populations, including families and children of substance abusers.

Clinical Practice with Adolescents
This program offers a comprehensive and eclectic theoretical framework focused on specialized clinical practice skills for Engagement, Assessment, Treatment, and Prevention for adolescents and their families. It will provide an in-depth, culturally competent clinical knowledge and skills in areas of practice most relevant to work with adolescents and their families seen in diverse urban practice settings (health/mental health, psychiatric, youth development, community-based agencies, schools, day/residential treatment).
ThIs program will provide a multicultural perspective inclusive of gender, race, ethnicity, social class, sexual identity, and disability.The program will also incorporate opportunities for participants to apply new theoretical knowledge and skills to their ongoing clinical practice with adolescents and families.
This certificate is awarded upon completion of 16 sessions.

Clinical Supervision
This certificate program provides a theoretical and practical understanding of clinical supervision process based on case presentations and relevant readings, integrating theory with supervisory practice skills. The courses will assists supervisors to develop and expand their theoretical knowledge. It will teach methods that utilize a psycho-dynamic framework. Completion of this certificate program meets the Specialized Training component to become a Certified Clinical Supervisor under the auspices of NBCC.
Three years professional experience plus current supervision of staff or student required.
Post Master's Certificate in Clinical Supervision
This certificate is obtained in two semesters of study with the completion of Contemporary Issues in Clinical Supervision and Advanced Case Seminar.

Palliative and End-of-Life Care
This program provides an integrated sequence of courses to promote the interaction of theory and practice. The program will also enhance the clinical practice knowledge, expand assessment and clinical
intervention skills, examine assessment and treatment needs of patients
and their families, use a biopsychosocial-spiritual framework,
provide opportunities to develop leadership skills, and explore the
dilemmas in "caring" rather than "curing."
One year of professional
experience in palliative and end of life care experience required.
