bio

Alice Wolson, D.S.W., is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work. She received her M.S.W from New York University and her D.S.W. from Yeshiva University. She also earned an analytic certificate from the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and a certificate in supervision of the Psychoanalytic Process from the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health.

Dr. Wolson served as a consultant to the NYC Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society where she worked with individuals, families, and children. In 1987, she published a paper entitled "Informing Your Child About MS."

Dr. Wolson provides professional consultation and supervision to agencies. She has developed and taught a series of advanced seminars in supervision which are offered to field instructors each academic year.

Dr. Wolson has taught Crisis Intervention and Brief treatment, Clinical Practice with Groups and Practice. She also coordinates the Seminar in Field Instruction program and teaches the Seminar in Field Work.

Dr. Wolson co-edited a book, Doing More With Less: Using Long-Term Skills in Short-Term Treatment (2001) and also contributed a chapter to the book entitled, "The Impact of Managed Care on the Therapeutic Process."

Dr. Wolson is a co-author of the SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction) curriculum which is utilized at Hunter, Columbia, Fordham, Adelphi, Stonybrook, and NYU School of Social Work.
