Experienced clinicians, researchers, experts in human behavior, policy developers, and administrators from many settings come to teach in our programs. This interdisciplinary faculty brings the School a wide range of knowledge and social work orientations spanning contemporary psychodynamic, psychological, and social theory perspectives and related research. They are experienced practicing professionals in mental health, policy administration, research, child welfare, group work, and independent practice.

Professor Mary Ann Jones Dr. Mary Ann Jones teaches in and is chair of the Research Curriculum Area in the MSW program. Her areas of interest are child and family welfare, psychotherapy research, and survey research. Prior to joining the faculty at NYU, Dr. Jones worked for two national social welfare organizations, the Family Service Association of America (FSAA) and the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA). At CWLA, Dr. Jones served as the Director of Research for several years, managing a large research department and conducting several research projects. |

Professor Gladys Gonzalez-Ramos Gladys Gonzalez-Ramos, associate professor of social work, has worked in the field of mental health for twenty-five years, and has practiced in a variety of community and hospital settings with children and families. Her areas of research and publications have been in the provision of culturally competent services and the study of cultural child-rearing values of Latino mothers. |

Professor Daniel Gardner Daniel Gardner and Peggy Morton have been awarded $75,000 to develop and implement the Field Learning Partnership Program in Integrated Geriatric Mental Health (IGMH). The grant, funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation and administered by the New York Academy of Medicine, will sponsor 12 students over three years in innovative field placements in hospital and community-based geriatric mental health settings. In order to maximize learning opportunities, the Silver School of Social Work will partner with several agencies that provide a range of community-based geriatric mental health services in New York City. |
