serving the tri-state community
All programs offered by the School are available on the main campus of the Washington Square. In addition, we have three suburban campus sites – in Staten Island, Rockland County, and Westchester County – to make learning more accessible to students living in the tri-state area.
The full-time and part-time MSW programs are available at our campus at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Rockland County, NY. This liberal arts college is located on a 47-acre, park-like campus in the scenic Hudson River Valley. Average class size is 15-20, and students have a wide range of field learning options in local communities. At our Rockland County campus, students may complete all MSW programs except for the Accelerated 16-Month option and the dual degree programs.
At our campus at the College of Staten Island, you may complete foundation courses in the Extended MSW and Extended OYR program options; during your course of study, Staten Island and New Jersey social service agencies provide unique field learning experiences. You must transfer to the main campus or to the Rockland County campus for the remaining courses in these programs of study.
At Sarah Lawrence College, students have the option of taking all MSW classes on Fridays or Saturdays at the 41-acre campus, located in Bronxville, NY. Class sizes are small, averaging 15-20 students. MSW students can earn their degree at the Sarah Lawrence branch campus without having to transfer to the main Washington Square campus. Classes are available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Friday option will be available beginning in January 2009, and Saturdays at Sarah Lawrence will begin in September 2009. Students will also have the flexibility to blend the programs and take courses on either day (part-time only on Friday, part-time or full-time on Saturday). The Dual-Degree Program in Child Development and Social Work requires one year of work at Sarah Lawrence College.
