AIDS Memorial Quilt Display

The AIDS Memorial Quilt display exists to provide a creative means for remembrance and healing, to effectively illustrate the enormity of the AIDS pandemic, to increase awareness of HIV and AIDS throughout the general public, and to assist in providing education on the prevention of HIV infection. Sponsored by the NYU SHC Health Promotion Office, Office of LGBT Student Services, and the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs.

World AIDS Day Event

The Office of LGBT Student Services will be creating a space within the office where students and NYU community members can express their thoughts and get more information about World AIDS Day. This will take the form of a mini AIDS quilt: we will hang a bolt of cloth in the office and provide smaller pieces that folks can express themselves on and pin to the larger piece of cloth.

Sexual Health Advocates and Representatives for Equality and Progress Peer Educators will facilitate a fun and interactive workshop about HIV transmission, testing, prevention, and resources. HIV Prevention Reconsidered for a New Generation of Young Gay and Bisexual Men: Preliminary Findings from Project Desire

Project Desire, in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, is a mixed-methods investigation to better understand the recent increase in HIV incidence in young men who have sex with men (YMSM) in New York City.
