Monday Matters

Archived Tips

Click here for a list of archived Monday Matters tips.

Each Monday provides a fresh start and gives us the opportunity to plan the week ahead. Mondays focus our attention on goals and weekly to-do's which is why it’s also a great day to do something healthy like taking the stairs, getting more sleep, setting a limit on alcohol use - decisions that can pay off all week and longer. So, at the beginning of every week, the SHC will post a Monday motivator, a brief health-enhancing action step which you can apply to school, work, relationships and life, Monday - and every other day of the week.

Hand washing is a simple habit, something most people do without even thinking about it, and a good one to have. When done properly, hand-washing is one of the best ways to avoid getting sick. This simple habit requires only soap and warm water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Remember to wash thoroughly, and for at least 15 seconds to get completely clean. Stay healthy by washing the germs away!

Thought for the week: Wash your hands!
