Getting a seasonal flu shot every year is the best way to prevent the flu. Vaccinations are available at the Student Health Center (see "How to Obtain Flu Vaccine at the Student Health Center" below) and through several Flu Vaccine Outreach Events around campus (see below).
Flu vaccine is recommended for everyone, but is especially important for those individuals at higher risk for complications resulting from the flu. These include:
- Any pregnant student
- Any student 50 years of age or older
- Any student with a chronic high risk condition
- Any student who is taking care of an infant less than 6 months of age
- Any student who is a health care worker and has patient care responsibilities
