Why a Men's Health Service?
Because at NYU, when it comes to quality health care, we know that one size doesn't fit all. Men have different needs, different concerns, different questions and issues.
How is the MHS different from Primary Care Services?
The MHS is staffed by a team of Primary Care providers and other healthcare specialists who focus on the needs of male students. The program provides college men the opportunity to select providers they feel comfortable with, in an atmosphere that is non-judgmental and confidential.
Who is the Men's Health Team?
The Men's Health Team is a group of NYU professionals who meet regularly to share knowledge and ideas around health and wellness issues that affect men the most. This team was formed so that the Men's Health Service can provide a holistic approach in serving male-identified students, offering the best services, resources and referrals possible.
Men-specific services include:

Men's Health Service Mission
The mission of the NYU Student Health Center's Men's Health Service is to support and enhance the health and well-being of college men through education, treatment and services that encourage and support healthy lifestyle choices.
Men's Health Service Approach
According to the World Health Organization, health is more than the absence of disease. It is "…the complete state of physical, mental and social well-being." Because men matter at NYU, the SHC works to provide a broad range of prevention, education and treatment services that enable and encourage men to take care of their health and to make appropriate use of health services throughout their lifetime.
The MHS is a project of the SHC's Primary Care Services and the Health Promotion Office. Thanks for visiting us!
