Online Appointment Scheduling

As part of an ongoing effort to improve services at the Student Health Center, appointments may now be made online for the following types of visits:

NOTE: If you have an injury (i.e. fall, burn, cut, sprained ankle), nausea or vomiting, please call (212) 443-1000.

  • Primary Care - Appointment for today
  • Men's Health - STI screening, sexual health issues, depression, alcohol/other drug concerns
  • HIV rapid test - Schedule an appointment
  • Women's Health Visit - Schedule an appointment
  • Women's Health Nursing Visit - Schedule an appointment

If you cannont find an appointment type that fits your needs, please call (212) 443-1000.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork. If you are late, you will be rescheduled for another appointment or there will be an additional charge if the provider sees you that day.

If you do not find an appointment that suits your needs, please call (212) 443-1000 to schedule your appointment.

Online appointments may be made by following these steps:

  1. Log into NYU Home
  2. Click the NYU Life tab
  3. Under the Health & Wellness section, click On-line Services
  4. Log into OpenCommunicator using your NYU Net ID and password
  5. Follow the prompts to schedule an appointment

Online Prescription Refill

You can now refill your existing NYU Student Health Center prescription online using secure messaging.
*Note: Only existing prescriptions originally filled at the NYU Student Health Center pharmacy with valid remaining refills may be refilled online. For expired prescriptions or prescriptions with no refills remaining, please contact the original prescriber.

  1. Click the link or go to https://home.nyu.edu to log onto your NYU Home account.
  2. Click on the NYU Life tab of NYU Home. Click on ON-LINE SERVICES.
  3. Log onto OpenCommunicator with your Net ID and password and confirm your Student ID (N#).
  4. Click GO TO MESSAGES.
  5. Select NEW MESSAGE.
  6. Select MEDICATION REFILL REQUEST.
  7. Complete required fields and click the SEND button.

Secure Messaging

As part of an ongoing effort to improve services at the Student Health Center, we have begun using secure messaging in order to provide a confidential and convenient method of communication regarding your health care. Secure messaging may be used by your provider to provide you with general information or follow-up instructions. If you have received a secure message, you will receive notification in your NYU Home email inbox. Follow these steps to access your secure message:

  1. Click the link or go to https://home.nyu.edu to log onto your NYU Home account.
  2. Click on the NYU Life tab of NYU Home. Click on ON-LINE SERVICES.
  3. Log onto OpenCommunicator with your Net ID and password and confirm your Student ID (N#).
  4. Click GO TO MESSAGES.
  5. The secure messages you have received will appear in your Secure Messages Inbox. Click READ IT to view one of the messages.

Online Questionnaires

Depending on your type of visit, you may be asked to fill out an online questionnaire in order for us to better understand your healthcare needs. Follow these steps to access the questionnaire:

  1. Log into NYU Home and click on the NYU Life tab.
  2. Click on ON-LINE SERVICES.
  3. Log in with your Net ID, password and Student ID (N#).
  4. Click GO TO APPOINTMENTS.
  5. Click Click Here to fill out Clinical Questionnaire.
  6. Fill out the questionnaire with as much information as possible and click Continue when finished.
