AlcoholEdu®

AlcoholEdu® for College is a non-opinionated, science-based course taken by hundreds of thousands of students each year. The course aims not to preach but rather to teach the facts about alcohol and its effects on the mind and body.

Whether or not you drink, AlcoholEdu® for College empowers students to make well-informed decisions and provides some simple strategies to help keep you and your friends safe.

AlcoholEdu® for College offers a confidential, personalized experience for each student. The two-part course includes:

• Alcohol-related content featuring videos, blogs, IM chats, comics, and more
• Helpful tools, like a BAC calculator and map of US laws
• Discussions on policies and issues related to alcohol
• Safe partying strategies and tips for helping a friend

Directions: All undergraduate first-year freshmen (including transfer and abroad students) who have not completed two full semesters of undergraduate coursework are required to complete AlcoholEdu for College - an online, unbiased alcohol education program.  Part 1 of the course is available for completion August 6 – 31, 2009.  Please follow the numbered instructions below for accessing the course.

1. Sign in to NYU Home, click on the NYU Life Tab and then on the AlcoholEdu link. You will see a pop-up box alerting you that you are leaving the NYU site and will   then land on the AlcoholEdu log-in/registration page.
2. Enter your personalized Unique ID Number you received via email August 6, 2009.
3. Then click the appropriate button indicating your age.
4. You will then be directed to the AlcoholEdu module.

Important Notes about AlcoholEdu for College:

• You may log in and out of the course at the end of each section. Section ends are marked with a "Next" button. DO NOT log out until you click the "Next" button or you will have to repeat the section you have just gone through.
• To log back into your account, always access AlcoholEdu from the NYU Life Tab. You will need your Unique ID, each time you return to the program.

For ALL LOGIN problems, please contact the AlcoholEdu helpdesk via alcoholmodule.support@nyu.edu.
For ALL OTHER AlcoholEdu technical issues, click on the "Technical Help" button located in the upper right-hand corner of every AlcoholEdu for College screen page (available 24/7). You will need your Unique ID in order for the Customer Care Representative to look up your AlcoholEdu record.
