CAD LAYERING STANDARDS
The layering standards pertain to the use, production and submittal of electronic CAD files at NYU. They have been developed to provide direction to architectural firms and consultants performing work for NYU. The use of these standards is mandatory for CAD drawings. Adherence to the Standard allows for the intelligence contained within the drawings to be readily transferred the Columbus database system. Any deviations from these standards are to be approved in writing by Space Planning. Consultants should copy the current release and template files prior to the commencement of any work. Adherence to these standards and procedures contained herein is essential in preserving a homogeneous character in the drawings maintained by NYU and in increasing the efficient use of the project time and management. These layering standards are based on CAD layering guidelines developed by AIA.
