The Planning Team of SAPD is responsible for the long and short-range physical planning needs for the University's local and global campuses. The team serves NYU's academic and administrative units through the management of the University's space inventory. With each individual client, the Planning Team works to allocate space through collaboration to find the most strategic space to meet each need. The Planning Team offers programming, planning, pre-design, and capital planning services to clients engaging in long-range plans and in preparation for major capital projects. The Planning Team guides NYU Plans 2031, a 25-year plan to envision the University as it approaches its Bicentennial. The planning team coordinates and manages architectural planning studies and programming for major projects of the University. We work with individual academic and administrative units to understand their space needs; help them develop space programs and work with outside architectural consultants to plan for the needs of those units, setting the ground work for future implementation. In addition to planning studies, programming, pre-design and preparation for major capital planning projects, we are also guiding NYU Plans 2031 which seeks to ensure that the University has a strategy and a vision to support its growth, sustain its academic mission, and reinforce its unique identity through the milestone year of 2031, NYU's 200th Anniversary.
