As Associate Vice President for Planning and Design at New York University, Lori Pavese Mazor, is responsible for the development of long and short-range planning and promotion of design excellence, including:
- Oversight of NYU PLANS 2031, the University's 25-year outlook on planning;
- Leadership of the Campus Planning team, which guides both school-based and university-wide initiatives;
- Representing and advising for the Office of the EVP on issues of planning and design, both local and abroad;
- Leadership of the Design team, which guides the University's Design Excellence Program, including the promotion of design quality, preservation, and sustainability;
- Leadership of the Space Planning team, which oversees the University's 12 Million GSF space inventory;
- Co-chair of the Space Planning Working Group, which advises on space planning and allocation;
- Co-chair of the Planning Advisory Council, which advises on NYU PLANS 2031;
- Co-chair of the Subcommittee for Green Efforts in Campus Planning.
Lori is a registered architect, a member of the AIA, and a LEED accredited professional. Before coming to NYU, she worked for Polshek Partnership Architects, where she managed planning, design, and construction projects for NYU, The Joseph Papp Public Theater, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Harvard, the University of Michigan, and the National Museum of American Jewish Heritage. Lori has a BA from Wellesley College and a Masters in Architecture from Yale University. In her free time, she is a member of the Metropolitones, a women's a capella group.
