As the Systems Administrator, Tom is responsible for maintaining and advancing technology systems in the Office of Strategic Assessment, Planning and Design. The primary application he is responsible for overseeing is the University’s Computer Aided Facility Management System, known as Columbus.
Columbus allows for:
- Reviewing floor plans of all NYU buildings in the Washington Square Campus in one central web based interface.
- Printing of floor plans as Acrobat PDFs and exporting of AutoCAD drawing files.
- Reporting on data for space planning purposes, including square footage allocation and room use for all Schools, Departments, and Buildings.
Prior to working at NYU, Tom ran his own I.T. business in New York City, which concentrated on Architecture and Design Firms. Tom received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas in Austin and worked as an architect for many years before making the transition to I.T.
