The Middle School Years: Transition from Childhood to Adolescence
The middle school years are a time of transition for both the young person and their parent. Join us to gain an understanding of adolescent development with a focus on the cognitive, emotional, and physical changes of children entering 6th through 8th grade. Learn about the adolescent decision-making process, the role parents play in helping their growing child develop a secure and healthy sense of independence, and strategies to stay connected while building an increasing comfort with your youngster’s greater need for independence.
Presenter: Michael Davidovits, Ph.D., LCSW, is a supervising and teaching faculty member at the Ackerman Institute where he also serves as the Assistant Director of the Project for Adolescents and their Families.
