Cleantech Currents is an event produced by the New York City Accelerator for a Clean and Renewable Economy at NYU-Poly (NYC ACRE), and New York University’s Sustainability Task Force. Currents brings together startups and students interested in promoting a sustainable future through entrepreneurship. New York City is home to a blossoming technology startup community and has some of the most progressive environmental legislation in the world, but only a handful of successful cleantech companies. Over light hors d'oeuvres and in an informal setting, Currents provides students with the opportunity to see first hand the vanguard of clean tech entrepreneurship and meet other students who see opportunity in a clean energy economy. It will also provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to consider contemporary academic thoughts and trends in sustainability, entrepreneurship, and social innovation.
