H204U is a qualitative research project designed to investigate how people understand water and why they drink the type of water(s) they drink, be it tap water, filtered water, or bottled water. For effective environmental activism, activists have to understand their audiences and the problems they are trying to solve. H204U begins to describe some of the depth and tensions within the culture of bottled water consumption at NYU and recommends ways to reduce and even ban bottled water on campus.
