Visra Vichit-Vadakan is a filmmaker who is passionate about encouraging social action and responsibility through her work. Her short films have been shown at many international film festivals including the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Tribeca Film Festival, Karlovy Vary Film festival, and the Bangkok World Film Festival. She is currently working on her first feature film, Karaoke Girl.
Before filmmaking Visra was working for the World Health Organization and the Office of Knowledge Management and Development under the Royal Government of Thailand until the coup d'etat in 2006. She attended NYU Tisch School of the arts Graduate Program where she received the Reynolds Fellowship in Social Entrepreneurship and the Tisch Graduate Fellowship.
