Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service
Master of Public Administration, May 2009
Theresa Jenkinson is interested in improving system thinking within existing non-profit organizations in order to build capacity and further leverage existing resources. She is also passionate about developing the talent pipeline for such organizations so that they can better attract and retain bright young leaders.
Since graduating from NYU's Wagner School of Public Service in 2009, Theresa has worked for Resources for Human Development (RHD), a $220 million human services non-profit organization headquartered in Philadelphia. As the Assistant Director of Corporate Operations, Theresa manages the organization's internal communications strategy and oversees all corporate policy development. She is proud to share that she has a 100% success track record of having selected interns who have been offered (and have accepted) full-time positions at RHD.
Since fall 2010, Theresa has also served as adjust professor at Harcum College. She teaches Sociology 101 and Marriage and The Family, primarily. In her off hours, Theresa is training for her third Team in Training event - the Philadelphia Marathon - in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She is a mentor for the Bucknell Public Interest Program Internship Program, as well as the co-chair of the NYU Wagner Philadelphia Chapter.
Prior to graduating, Theresa worked on communications and social marketing at Coro New York Leadership Center, Acumen Fund and The Washington Post.com. At Wagner, she was VP of Communications for Bridge: Wagner Students for Social Entrepreneurship, helping to launch the group's first NYU-wide conference, From Innovation to Impact, which won the 2009 President's Public Service Award.
