Space Reservations @ The Commons
• The Commons has two spaces available for reservation: The Atrium and a Seminar Room. The Atrium can accommodate approximately 100 people, and the Seminar Room accommodates 20 people.
• The Seminar is a Smart Classroom that includes tables and chairs that can be arranged upon arrival.
• The Atrium is an open space surrounded by offices; therefore, the space is not ideal for private or closed meetings as individuals will need to walk through the Atrium to access other areas in The Commons.
• The Atrium furniture can be moved, but must be placed back in its original condition at the end of the program/event.
• Residential Education manages all reservations for both the Atrium and Seminar Room.
• All reservations are to be submitted through the Residential Education website’s Space Requisition Form (nyu.edu/residential.education/space.requisition).
• All reservations need to be submitted at least one week in advance.
• Priority scheduling will be given to the offices residing in University Hall: College Learning Center, Center for Study Abroad and Special Sessions, and Residential Education), followed by NYU schools and colleges. All outside departments/offices can begin scheduling for the Fall and Spring semesters two weeks after classes begin. Summer meetings and events can be scheduled beginning May 1.
• In the event that individuals not affiliated with NYU need access to The Commons, the program/meeting coordinator will need to e-mail a memo with the non-NYU persons’ names to the University Hall CDE 48 hours prior to the event. That memo will be placed at the University Hall Public Safety desk.
• Residential Education will not provide staffing or technical support for either space.
