Welcome to Rubin! Located at a swanky address on 5th Avenue , Rubin is a bustling community comprised of approximately 680 first-year students. Rubin is part of the FYRE (First Year Residential Experience) and is served by 13 Resident Assistants (RA), 6 Peer Educators in Residence (PEIR), a Community Development Educator (CDE), an Assistant Community Development Educator (ACDE), and a Faculty-Fellow in Residence (Heidi White). The staff provides a plethora of programming, so you will find plenty to do in Rubin, at NYU and in NYC! Rubin is home to the Dead Poets Society and Through the Lens Explorations floors as well as a CHOICES community. We have several great amenities for residents to take advantage of including: a game room, a large second floor lounge, a black box theatre, a large study lounge, a dance room, a piano room, a ping pong room, and a great dining hall. At Rubin, we also have a tradition of having the most spirited hall government, which we affectionately refer to as S.U.G.A.R. (Student Undergraduate Government At Rubin). S.U.G.A.R. is the governing body in the hall and works to plan programs and makes suggestions for hall improvements. We encourage everyone to get involved in the Rubin community, whether that means running for President of S.U.G.A.R., being a floor representative, or attending our fun programs. We know you will enjoy calling Rubin your home!
