Reception Desk

Location: On first floor past the public safety desk.

Access: Monday-Friday, 3pm to 8pm; Saturday and Sunday 2pm- 6pm. (Holiday hours may vary).

Desk services:

  • Information about the residence hall, procedures, services, and activities.
  • Maintenance Requests.
  • Key return and problems.
  • Mail and package pick up.

Safety and Security

Safety and security are everyone's responsibility (link to Students section: Staff Services Offered), but this residence also has specific building security procedures:

  • NYU Public Safety Services officers on duty 24 hours a day.

  • All residents must present their NYU ID cards on entry.
  • All guests must be signed in and out by their resident host and leave picture ID at the guard station.

Room and suite types

  • Shared studios for 2 persons.
  • One bedroom apartments for 2 persons.
  • Low Cost Studios for two persons.
  • Small studios for one person.
  • Kitchen

    • Kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, sink, microwave. One-person studios have kitchenette with small refrigerator and no sink.
    • Dining area with table and chairs in all apartments.
    • Residents provide their own cookware, dishes, and supplies.

    Bath

    Full bathroom with tub/shower in each suite.

    Furnishings

    • Long (80 inch) twin bed, desk, dresser, and wastebasket for each resident.
    • Dining table and chairs.
    • Lounge chair or two-seat couch in a common living area, except in the one-person studio apartments.
    • Windows have blinds.
    • Hard floors in student rooms and suites.

    Telephone

    • Telephone service is not provided. Students contract independently for service. Residents provide their own telephones.
    • Long distance service: Residents contract directly with a carrier. Roommates are solely responsible for telephone bills and should agree beforehand about telephone use and payment responsibility.

    Internet connections

    Service is not provided. Students contract independently for internet service. Provider information will be available at check-in. Residents provide their own computers with Ethernet cards, cables, and software.

    Cable TV

    Service is not provided. Students contract independently for cable TV service. Residents provide their own televisions and connecting cables.

    • Apartment-style residence hall with bath, kitchen, and dining area in each unit.

    • All floors coed; single sex in studios and apartments.

    Building/Community Features

    • Lounge area on second floor.
    • In the interesting Brooklyn Heights area with its restaurants, shopping, and recreation.
    • Card operated laundry on first floor.

    No dining hall. May use all campus Dining facilities

    Shipping packages before arrival: Do not send boxes or packages for arrival at your residence hall before you check in. You may pick up packages the same day a package notice is placed in your mail box.

    Maintenance Concerns

    Report maintenance concerns to the residence hall reception desk. Service Requests should be submitted at the first sign of a problem. If there is damage in your room, do not repair it yourself. Skilled repair personnel will fix it for you. Preventative maintenance and routine repairs are done without charge, though you will be billed for any damage caused by your negligence or actions.

    Emergency repairs include major leaks and flooding, inoperative door locks, and any problem that endangers safety or property. In case of an emergency, contact the reception desk or any member of the residence hall staff immediately.
